The Gunners' boss has expressed confidence that his team can keep managing with fitness issues after confirming that forward Kai Havertz remains out for the coming weeks.

Extended Absence for Havertz

The Germany international has been sidelined for months due to knee surgery. Originally slated to return sooner, the manager stated the player faced a hurdle when advancing his recovery and could not progress “the next phase.”

“We learned, and we were able to put together a squad that is much more reliable and has increased versatility,” stated the manager.

This news presents a dilemma for Wednesday’s match against Brentford. Arteta must choose between sticking with Mikel Merino, who scored as a makeshift striker against Chelsea, or reinstating Viktor Gyökeres, who featured briefly after a fitness issue in the latter stages.
