Person Who Grabbed Ariana Grande at Film Launch Barred from Singapore

A man from Australia that leaped across a fence and reached for Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been expelled and banned from Singapore.

The man, aged 26, was given a sentence to more than a week in jail for disrupting public order and has now been "barred from re-entering Singapore," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority informed Singaporean press.

The man shoved through camera crews and charged at the actress and singer, who was participating in the Asian premier for Wicked: For Good on 13 November. Co-star Cynthia Erivo intervened to remove him from Grande.

He has a background of causing disturbances at events and high-profile gatherings, including rushing the stage at the pop star's Australian show in the past June.

The incident provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with several individuals claiming he of causing further distress to the star.

The pop star has spoken of experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a explosive incident at her performance in the English city in several years ago resulted in the deaths of 22 people and hurt numerous attendees.

In the legal process, the authorities learned he had tried to gain access on the film's premiere on two occasions, according to Singaporean media.

He then made a second attempt to jump the barricades. Security staff intercepted him and pinned him down.

Wen later posted videos thanking Grande for permitting his access and said he was "free."

Law enforcement arrested him the subsequent day and accused him with disorderly conduct, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The Court Judge the judicial official was quoted by media reports as saying that the man sought attention, adding that he was incorrect to think he would not face any penalties.

The singer has not addressed the incident.

Erivo discussed the situation to the press, saying that she "simply desired to ensure my colleague was secure."

"I believe he had no intention to us harm, but you can't predict with those things, and I aimed to confirm that she was OK. That was my first instinct," she commented.
