Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size.
This online marketplace has revised its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel but did not contact every member regarding the update.
Many shoppers and sellers are posting online saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration.
The company said the new system was more in line with similar services.
They have suggested members to examine their items and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction.
Earlier, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, like S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.
Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
Another user, located in Scotland, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as size 20–22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she said.
A different user, located in England, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she said.
The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
